From November 4 to8, 2019, at the invitation of the Center for the study of Chinese languages and characters , Nanjing normal University, Mr.You held a five-day workshop on Chinese dialect for students in classroom 117 of the NNU. The workshop was conducted in the form of teaching and discussion, with two daily topics, including: literary pronunciation,colloquial pronunciation and contact pronunciation,the simplification of vowels inWu dialect,the study of homonyms in dialects, the study of loanwords in Shanghai dialect,the positive and partial word formation of Chinese dialects, the historical phonetic changes of dialects,the formation of dialect contact and Hebi words, the convergence of dialects and the formation of mixed dialects,The contribution of the study of Chinese phonology to the study of Chinese dialects and its related problems, the tradition and future of Chinese dialects. The sixth session of the Forum, chaired by Associate Professor Wu Bo, attracted the participation of many teachers and students both inside and outside the school.
You Rujie was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1941.He is a famous linguist and special professor and doctoral supervisor of Fudan University. He has served as director of the Chinese Linguistics Society, director of the National Chinese dialect Society, president of Shanghai Chinese literature, honorary president, and so on.
